Boeing announced on 8 November that it had completed the acquisition of Aurora Flight Sciences Corporation.
The purchase of Aurora – a developer of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), electric air propulsion, and aircraft designs – was first announced on 5 October.
Products include the Orion medium-altitude long-endurance (MALE) UAV and the Centaur optionally piloted aircraft.
The company has previously collaborated with Boeing’s Phantom Works research division and is based in Virginia, US, employing 550 people.
Terms were not disclosed.
