Leonardo expands investment in Australia

Leonardo is looking to expand further in Australia and is “absolutely open” to making additional acquisitions in the country, Michael Lenton, chairman of the group’s in-country subsidiary, Selex ES Australia Pty Ltd, told Jane’s on 31 October.

Leonardo is currently represented in Australia by two subsidiary companies: Selex ES Australia Pty Ltd and AgustaWestland Australia Pty Ltd. The group also has a presence through its investment in the consortium EuroTorp, a torpedo specialist, which is active in Australia. Lenton said that Leonardo Australia, as an official legal entity, was expected to be established in the short term.
