L-3 Communications announced on 13 October that it had acquired intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) systems provider ForceX.
ForceX specialises in ISR mission systems software and geospatial application technology programs, as well as training courseware, for the US Department of Defense. Programmes include the mission management system for use on the Lockheed Martin AC-130 gunship, airborne ISR systems integration, ground surveillance systems, and intelligence exploitation systems.
Terms of the transaction for the Tennessee-based company were not disclosed. However, L-3 Communications did reveal that the acquisition was expected to be immediately accretive and that ForceX was expected to add approximately USD30 million in sales by the end of 2016.
