Türkiye's National Fast Attack Craft design evolves

A new model of the Turkish National Fast Attack Craft displayed by STM at the Saha Expo 2026 exhibition, held in Istanbul from 5-9 May, showed changes compared to the model displayed at the IDEF Defence Exhibition in 2025.

One visible change is the air defence missile system located on the Y position of the ship. The new model shows the twin-arm launcher of Aselsan's Göksur naval point defence missile system. The Göksur is offered either standalone with associated radars and electro-optic systems mounted on the launcher, or as an integrated system.

The new model also displays four flat panels on the top of the pilothouse. These are the fixed-face phased array radars associated with the Göksur system.

Another change involves the mast arrangement. In the configuration seen in 2025 the main radar and a Piri dual-band infrared search and track (IRST) system were both mounted on the masthead. That seen at Saha Expo 2026 shows only the main radar atop the mast, while the Piri IRST system has been relocated to the aft face of the mast.

The Ahtapot electro-optic system, which was positioned aft of the mast in the previous iteration, is now mounted in a forward-facing position. There is an additional smaller electro-optic sensor system facing aft, possibly the Aselsan Kırlangıç.

The location of the decoy launchers has also changed. Previously mounted atop the aft superstructure, they are now positioned amidships, just forward of the mast. There is a new dome fitted on the top of the aft superstructure, probably a satcom antenna.
