Ukraine's Tencore says UGVs used in “small numbers” in combat roles

Tencore, a Ukrainian manufacturer of unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) says that “a very small number” of its UGVs are being used in combat roles in Ukraine compared to logistics missions, Roman Tkachenko, co-founder and chief business development officer of Tencore told Janes on 21 July 2026.

“UGVs in combat roles are the future and the number of combat missions are growing from month to month,” Tkachenko said.

Tencore delivered more than 4,000 of its UGVs to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) over an undisclosed period, according to Tkachenko. A number of those UGVs were fitted with remote weapon stations (RWSs) from partner companies. In some instances the AFU added their own RWSs to the UGVs. “Sometimes we see videos of our platform as the base with a different RWS [to the one that was delivered] as a payload,” Tkachenko said.

Tencore is known for its TErrain Modular Infantry Transporter (TERMIT) UGV, which can carry at least three types of weapons integrated into the RWS, including the MK19 40 mm grenade launcher, and machine guns such as the Browning M2 12.7 mm, or the FN 7.62 mm.
