Saab displayed a model of the Littoral Mission Vessel (LMV) at the Estonian Defence Week Expo 2025 held in Tallinn on 24–25 September. Saab and ST Engineering are proposing the vessel for the Estonian Navy.

A Saab representative at the company's stand told Janes on 24 September that Estonia could be offered a 30–50% work-share in the LMV, including building its hull at an Estonian shipyard, with Saab providing the superstructure.

A Saab spokesperson told Janes on 29 September, “Swedish Saab and ST Engineering from Singapore are once again teaming up to offer a variant of the Littoral Mission Vessel for the Estonian Navy. The 80 m long vessel is operated by the Republic of Singapore Navy [RSN] in the form of the Independence class, eight of which are among the key vessels of the RSN, where the basic design and composite superstructure were provided by Saab Kockums in Karlskrona, Sweden, and ST Engineering Marine performed the detailed design and construction in Singapore. While waiting for the upcoming 10-year plan for the development of the Estonian Navy, Saab and ST Engineering are currently working hard looking for local partners who can both offer additional value to the production of the vessels – possibly including building the hulls locally – and ensure the eventual offer will meet any requirements for local content that can be expected.”
