KNDS Deutschland and Elbit Systems plan to form a EuroPULS joint venture this year to offer Precise and Universal Launching System (PULS) multiple rocket launchers (MRLs), Janes learnt at Defence iQ's Future Artillery 2025 conference being held in London from 20 to 22 May. The junior partners in the joint venture will be MBDA, Nammo, Diehl, and Saab, which will offer effectors for PULS, KNDS Deutschland told Janes.
KNDS Deutschland has self-funded the Multidomain Artillery Rocket System (MARS) 3, a PULS launcher mounted on an Iveco Trakker 8×8 vehicle. With a crew of three in a protected cabin and protection levels to customer specifications, MARS 3 has a combat weight of less than 38 tonnes. Its 500 hp engine produces a maximum speed of 90 km/h with a range of over 750 km, and it is air-transportable. Autonomous resupply is provided by an onboard crane.
