Malaysian company Mildef unveiled a 4x4 military vehicle, designated the Mirsad ‘infantry selection vehicle', at the Defence Services Asia (DSA) 2026 exhibition, held in Kuala Lumpur from 20 to 23 April.

Mildef's supervisor project engineer Akmal Khusairi Bin Karim told Janes that the vehicle is intended intended for infantry units conducting reconnaissance missions and initial assaults. He said the platform's minimal armour is designed to enable rapid dismount by troops during assault operations.

“When this vehicle moves, [soldiers] can easily come out and come in,” Karim said, adding that the platform features protection provided through the vehicle's blast-protection chassis and frontal glass.

Karim said Mirsad is currently at prototype stage and undergoing manufacturer testing. He added that Mildef expects to complete internal trials by June, after which the vehicle will be handed over to the Malaysian Army for further evaluation.

According to Karim, the vehicle is equipped with run‑flat tyres, enabling continued mobility for up to 50 km after tyre damage.

The platform also features rear mine-blast protection. Weapons integration options include two gun-mounts capable of integrating 12.7 mm weapons, including an M2 heavy machine gun, positioned at the front and rear of the vehicle.
