Raytheon completes sale of space optics business to Amergint
Raytheon Technologies Corporation has finishing selling its space optics business to US-based Amergint Technologies, completing the third of three divestitures the American defence contractor had to make to address antitrust regulators’ concerns about its creation.

Amergint said on 1 September that the business, which is based in Danbury, Connecticut, will be renamed Danbury Mission Technologies. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The space business develops and produces electro-optical systems that enable national security satellites to observe Earth. It has 600 employees and a 550,000 sq ft (51,097 m 2 ) facility.
The sale of the space business was mandated by regulators to preserve competition after Raytheon Company and United Technologies Corporation (UTC) merged in April to form Raytheon Technologies.
