Indonesia approves Australian Bushmaster donation

The Indonesian Ministry of Defense has approved Australia's offer to donate Bushmaster protected mobility vehicles to the Indonesian National Armed Forces.
An Australian Department of Defence (DoD) spokesperson told Janes on 12 April that Australia is donating 15 Bushmaster vehicles to support Indonesia's peacekeeping capabilities.
The DoD said the donated vehicles are from existing stock and have been refurbished and integrated with capabilities to support peacekeeping. “This will also help increase interoperability between our forces,” the DoD added.
Australia announced the provision of 15 Bushmasters to Indonesia in September 2021.
According to Janes Land Warfare Platforms: Armoured Fighting Vehicles , the Bushmaster is a protected mobility mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) vehicle designed and manufactured in Australia to provide the Australian Army with an infantry mobility vehicle.
The standard Bushmaster is used as a protected mobility vehicle to transport a section of infantry into a contested area.
