El Alamein 2026: Russia unveils air-launched ‘export Banderol'

Rosoboronexport showcased four of its latest air-launched weapons at the El Alamein Airshow 2026, held in Egypt from 8-10 September.
On display alongside weapons previously shown were different variants of the S-71 and the Dan-T air-launched weapon.

The company said it is “intended for use from aircraft and helicopters, including foreign ones, so we expect wide interest in this munition from foreign customers.”
Externally, the Dan-T looked almost identical Russia's ‘S8000 Banderol' air-launched cruise missile, which has been used by the Russian Armed Forces in Ukraine since mid-2025. This would indicate that Dan-T is an export version of the S8000 Banderol.
All four air-launched weapons are intended for tactical aviation deployment and are powered by jet engines. A Rosoboronexport representative told Janes on 8 September that all four were already in service with Russia's Aerospace Forces and had been used in combat, but declined to provide a date for entry into service for any of them. The specialist added that each of the munitions could be configured for firing from non-Russian combat aircraft.
All four weapons were displayed alongside Russia's Su-57E and Yak-130M, with these combat aircraft being offered for export.
S-71K
A Rosoboronexport representative described the S-71K ‘Kover' to Janes as an “airborne delivery platform”. The munition is designed primarily as a kinetic payload delivery vehicle.
