Tiberius Aerospace announced the award of a UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) contract for the trial and development of its Sceptre ramjet-powered, extended-range 155 mm munition ahead of the Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) 2025 exhibition being held in London from 9 to 12 September.
The liquid-fuelled, 155 mm ramjet extended-range, precision-guided artillery munition, also called TRBM 155HG, was first unveiled in May 2025.
The company did not disclose any details of the contract but cited it as an investment in the munition by the MoD, and said the US Department of Defense's (DoD's) Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) is facilitating the independent verification and validation for the testing of the technology.
Andy Baynes, co-founder and chief strategy officer of Tiberius Aerospace, said on 5 September that the company had been using a series of live-firing and synthetic test cycles to trial Sceptre since its launch in May.
An MoD spokesperson told Janes on 8 September that the contract runs from February to October 2025, without providing further details.
