US Air Force issues Combat Air Force Contracted Air Support adversary air contracts
The US Air Force (USAF) on 21 July awarded contracts to three companies to provide realistic and challenging advanced adversary air training, according to a service spokesperson.
USAF spokesperson Leah Garton said on 28 July that Combat Air Force Contracted Air Support (CAF CAS) contracts were issue to Airborne Tactical Advantage Company (ATAC), Tactical Air Support (TACAIR), and Draken International. CAF CAS is an umbrella programme that awards both adversary air service contracts and close air support service deals.

ATAC was awarded a pair of contracts totalling USD240.5 million to provide adversary air services at two air force bases. The company was awarded USD113.9 million to provide 1,558 sorties at Holloman Air Force Base (AFB) in New Mexico against pilots operating Lockheed Martin F-16 Fighting Falcons.
ATAC was also awarded USD126.6 million to provide 1,530 sorties at Luke AFB in Arizona against Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) pilots. ATAC will use its fleet of Dassault Mirage F1 fighters for its contracts.
TACAIR’s contract, worth USD90.4 million, will provide 800 sorties at Kingsley Air National Guard Base in Oregon against Boeing F-15C Eagle operators.
