1GNC to use SitaWare HQ as digital foundation for its operations

1 German-Netherlands Corps (1GNC) will coordinate the work of its 12 participating nations using Systematic's SitaWare Headquarters (HQ) software, according Systematic announced in a press release on 29 June 2026.

1GNC will be using SitaWare HQ as its command and control (C2) system to integrate inputs from different systems used by NATO nations into a single operational picture. “Officers from all 12 nations can plan and coordinate from the same picture, regardless of which national system they bring with them,” according to the release.

The framework nations of 1GNC are Germany and the Netherlands, with 10 other NATO countries contributing personnel. According to the press release, SitaWare HQ will serve as the corps' foundation for planning and coordinating coalition operations. SitaWare HQ uses information from a wide range of sources including the corps' own forces, allied units, terrain and infrastructure, combining it into a single updated overview.

1GNC is one of NATO's High Readiness Forces Headquarters and has the capability to direct any mission of up to 60,000 troops at short notice, according to NATO. “1GNC sets the benchmark for coalition interoperability in practice. Integrating personnel and systems from multiple nations demands a common command-and-control capability that enables shared situational awareness and harmonised processes,” Sven Trusch, managing director of Systematic's German subsidiary, said in the release.

SitaWare's HQ includes planning; situational awareness capability; geographical information system (GIS) capability; tasking and unit status; and integration with SitaWare Frontline. Sitaware HQ is used by NATO members Denmark, the UK, Germany, Finland, Lithuania, Slovenia, and Sweden, and is being rolled out by NATO itself as the basis for the Alliance's Future Land C2 Capability (DEMETER programme).
