Türkiye's MKE debuts two new SPHs

Türkiye's MKE unveiled two new self-propelled howitzers (SPHs) for the first time at the Saha Expo 2026 exhibition, held in Istanbul from 5–9 May 2026.

Factory trials for both the Uran 105 mm SPH mounted on a 4x4 wheeled chassis, and the Attila 155 mm SPH, had been completed, company officials confirmed to Janes during the exhibition.

AttilaMKE representatives said the 155/52 mm SPH has a rate of fire of 4–6 rounds per minute and can be made ready to fire within 60 seconds.

Loading is semi-automatic, with spades deployed at the vehicle's for stability during firing. Folding platforms extending from the back of the SPH provide additional space for the crew of four to work during firing. The Attila can carry 36–38 rounds of ammunition in a honeycomb‑shaped storage compartment located behind the cab, along with three illumination/smoke rounds.

The system is mounted on a 6x6 Tatra T815 chassis. The system has a combat weight of 29 tonnes, a maximum height of 3.8 m, a length of 11.5 m, and a width of 3 m. It achieves The vehicle has a maximum speed of 85 km/h and an operational range of up to 850 km, the representatives added.

UranThe 105 mm Uran SPH, mounted on a 4×4 KIA Light Tactical Vehicle (KLTV), is based around the Boran 105 mm air‑transportable light howitzer.

The system offers an elevation range from –3° to +70° and a traverse of 14° to the left and 28° to the right, operated by a two‑person crew, the representatives said.
