StrikeMaster participates in Operation ‘Atlantic City 26'

US Marines and Norwegian forces integrated the StrikeMaster coastal defence missile system during Operation ‘Atlantic City 26' held on Norway's Jan Mayen Island in the Arctic from 26 August to 4 September 2026.
Norwegian, UK, and US forces deployed to the island as part of ‘Arctic Sentry', NATO's enhanced vigilance activity in the High North. The trilateral operation aimed to integrate multinational sensors, command and control nodes, and precision fires into a unified, joint kill web in support of NATO and US homeland defence, the US Marine Corps (USMC) said in a press release on 24 August.
Norwegian participation in ‘Atlantic City 26' included personnel from the Royal Norwegian Navy and the Norwegian Home Guard. Elements of LXX Squadron, UK Royal Air Force (RAF) participated alongside detachments of Royal Marine Commandos. US participation included US Marines of the II Marine Expeditionary Force as well as elements of the 10th Marine Regiment and Marine Air Support Squadron 1.
An RAF A400M transport aircraft from RAF Brize Norton airlifted the StrikeMaster from Trondheim, Norway, to Jan Mayen. Other aircraft involved in the operation were a US Air Force Special Operations Command MC-130 and a US Air Forces Europe C-130.
The Norwegian Home Guard provided security on the ground for the StrikeMaster and other systems, including a Norwegian Army National Manoeuvre Air Defence System (NOMADS) mobile ground-based short-range air defence system and a High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) platoon from the 3-197th Field Artillery Regiment, New Hampshire Army National Guard.
