Team Grenadier has unveiled an enhanced-protection version of its Ineos Grenadier-based Multi-Role Light Vehicle (MRLV), as the industrial consortium prepares to enter the UK Ministry of Defence's (MoD's) forthcoming light mobility vehicle (LMV) trials starting in late October 2026.

Team Grenadier provided further details of its bid for the LMV element of the UK MoD's wider Land Mobility Programme (LMP) during an industry event at NMS UK's facility in Leamington Spa on 2 September. The consortium brings together Ineos Automotive as the prime contractor, with Nurol Makina Systems (NMS) UK and SMT Defence as partners. Hobson Industries and TVS Supply Chain Solutions are providing additional support. The team intends to use the Ineos Grenadier-based MRLV as a common platform from which to address the nine variants sought under the LMV requirement. The MRLV will be available with either a 115-inch or 127-inch wheelbase, depending on the intended variant.

The partnership represents a significant expansion of Ineos Automotive's ambitions for the programme. During an MoD-organised LMV industry event attended by Janes in March 2026, Ineos presented its Quartermaster double-cab pickup as one of its candidate platforms. Under the Team Grenadier approach, however, Ineos would provide the underlying vehicle and carry out common modifications at its manufacturing facility in Hambach, France, while more specialised military modifications would be conducted in the UK by SMT Defence and NMS UK.

The MoD has indicated that vehicle trials are expected to begin from 19 October 2026 at the earliest, according to Ineos representatives speaking to Janes , with Team Grenadier planning to enter the MRLV into these trials.
