Farnborough 2026: Honeywell unveils iTALIN 550 vehicle positioning system

Honeywell Aerospace launched its International Tactical Advanced Land Inertial Navigator (iTALIN) 550 system for ground vehicles at the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, held from 20-24 July.

The iTALIN 550 is a replacement for Honeywell's existing TALIN 500 with improved navigation and enhanced alignment capabilities, according to the company's 20 July press release. The system was developed by Honeywell Aerospace in the Czech Republic and its subsidiary Civitanavi Systems in Italy.

Honeywell Aerospace says the iTALIN 550 is built based on the company's fibre optic gyro (FOG) technology. The system has dual antenna; precise, point, positioning (PPP) capability; real-time kinematic (RTK) positioning; and a satellite-based augmentation system (SBAS), according to Honeywell. The iTALIN 550 system's main features include anti-jamming, anti-spoofing capability and its “scalable architecture”. It includes a plug-and-play installation with a mounting adapter designed to fit iTALIN500 mounting points. The system has a horizontal positioning drift of less than 0.25% of distance travelled without GNSS.

Honeywell said that the iTALIN 550 is entirely European designed and produced, and is free from US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) restrictions.

The full-scale production of iTALIN 550 will begin in the first quarter of 2027, the company said.
