Belgian manufacturer John Cockerill and its subsidiary Arquus unveiled their Fenris fire support vehicle at the Eurosatory 2026 exhibition, held in Paris from 15-19 June.

The Fenris is the result of integrating the Cockerill 3105 turret onto the Jaguar armoured fighting vehicle (AFV) platform. The base platform retains the same structure as the Jaguar, including its drivetrain, with only minor modernisations introduced, including cosmetic changes such as a new headlight array. Janes assesses that, while the platform will likely be heavier than the base Jaguar due to the larger armament, it should broadly retain similar mobility characteristics.

The turret utilised is the John Cockerill 3105, which is available in both manned and unmanned configurations. The lack of visible vision ports, periscopes, or crew hatches indicates that the company has opted for the unmanned configuration for the Fenris showcased in Paris.

At a press conference held during the unveiling, John Cockerill CEO Jean‑Luc Maurange said that the conflict in Ukraine was one of the drivers behind the development of the Fenris. He highlighted the requirement for highly manoeuvrable platforms with strong operational mobility, as seen in the Jaguar, combined with substantial firepower capable of engaging fortified and armoured targets at range. Maurange also said that the company aims to offer a 16‑month delivery timeframe between an order and first deliveries.
