Thales UK has integrated its RapidRanger air defence missile launcher onto the Patria 6×6 armoured vehicle, displaying the configuration at the Defence Vehicle Dynamics (DVD) exhibition held at Millbrook, UK from 16-17 September 2026.
A Thales UK representative told Janes that the four-missile configuration displayed at DVD weighs approximately 600 kg. The company is also planning an eight-missile version intended to provide a direct replacement for the missile load carried by the British Army's Stormer High Velocity Missile (HVM) platform.
According to the representative, the launcher requires minimal intrusion into the host vehicle and can therefore be integrated onto various platforms. RapidRanger has previously been mounted on the 4×4 URO VAMTAC, while Thales has also developed a palletised configuration which has been deployed to Kuwait by the RAF Regiment.
Thales is additionally examining the integration of rockets onto RapidRanger, providing customers with a lower-cost effector for engaging threats such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
