DSEI 2025: Rheinmetall and Lockheed Martin present Fuchs JAGM tank destroyer

Rheinmetall and Lockheed Martin presented the Fuchs JAGM tank destroyer at the Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) 2025 exhibition held in London from 9 to 12 September.

Armed with 24 Lockheed Martin AGM-179 Joint Air-to-Ground Missiles (JAGMs) or AGM-114L Hellfire Longbow missiles with a Fuchs Evolution 6×6 armoured vehicle as its platform, the system can engage ground and aerial targets. Its sensor package is designed to detect multiple targets, enabling Fuchs JAGM to engage up to 24 main battle tanks or other targets in rapid succession without reloading.

Armed with a tandem-shaped charge fragmentation warhead, JAGM is a multisensor missile with a range of up to 16 km. Its multimode seeker features an improved semi-active laser sensor for precision strikes and a fire-and-forget millimetric-wave radar for moving targets in all-weather conditions. According to Rheinmetall, these moving targets include armour, air-defence systems, patrol boats, aerial targets, artillery and rocket launchers, radar installations, and command-and-control nodes, as well as bunkers and other structures in urban and complex terrain.

The Fuchs Evolution features an improved powertrain with ABS and a central tyre inflation system; a digital electrical system; and a digital NATO Generic Vehicle Architecture (NGVA), with protection against ballistic and chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) threats. It has an enlarged interior and can carry higher payloads than earlier Fuchs versions, according to Rheinmetall.
