Chile acquires first Hunter TR-12 medevac variant

Chile presented its new Armor International Hunter TR-12CH Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle configured for medical evacuation during an 18 May event attended by Janes.
The purchase of this model aims to strengthen medical evacuation capabilities and interagency support in security operations in the country's southern region, officials from the Directorate of the Southern COP and Intervention Zone (Zona de Control de Orden Público) of the Ministry of Public Security said during the event. Officials did not specify the cost of the acquisition.
Before this acquisition, Chile had acquired about nine standard MRAPs, according to government officials.
The new variant features two front and two rear doors in addition to a rear top evacuation hatch, the company told Janes during a February 2026 briefing. It can be configured to carry two or three medical personnel at a time.
