TRM Equity buys Gamma Aerospace

US private equity firm TRM Equity has acquired US-based Gamma Aerospace, which makes parts for military and commercial aircraft, the buyer announced on 3 March.

Founded in 1971, Gamma is based in Mansfield, Texas, near Fort Worth, and employs more than 200 people. Its customers include Bell, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman.

A TRM official declined to disclose what his firm paid for Gamma, from whom it purchased the company, or what defence programmes Gamma supports. However, a spokesperson for F-35 Lightning II prime contractor Lockheed Martin confirmed to Janes on 7 March that Gamma is a supplier for the fighter jet.

While Gamma has kept a low public profile, it announced in May 2021 that it spent USD10 million to upgrade its coating and inspection capabilities in Mansfield and Los Angeles, California.
