India's Nibe Limited has rolled out the first 300 km-range Precise and Universal Launching System (PULS) multiple rocket launcher (MRL), designated Suryastra, the country's Ministry of Defence (MoD) has announced.

According to the MoD, the ceremonial roll-out of Suryastra took place on 23 May and was overseen by Minister of Defence Rajnath Singh in Shirdi, Maharashtra. The MoD said Singh also inaugurated Nibe's defence production facility on the same day.

The MoD said the new complex is designed to produce artillery systems, missile and space technologies, rocket systems, energetic materials, and autonomous defence platforms.

The Suryastra roll-out follows a January 2026 stock exchange filing by Nibe, in which the company said it would manufacture and supply ground equipment, accessories, electronic sequence programming, and ammunition for the universal rocket launcher intended for the army. The launcher is capable of firing rockets with ranges of 150 km and 300 km.

At the time of signing the contract, Nibe said that MRL components would be delivered in tranches within 12 months.

Nibe signed an agreement with Elbit Systems in July 2025 to build the Israeli company's PULS in India. The system is a multi-calibre MRL designed for ‘shoot-and-scoot' operations and can be mounted on a 6×6 or an 8×8 vehicle chassis, firing both guided and unguided rockets of different calibres.
