BAE Systems teams with Brazilian firm on armoured vehicle technology

Knightec Group Brasil Serviços e Engenharia, the Brazilian subsidiary of Swedish technology consulting firm Knightec Group, has begun concept design work on a new transmission housing for the BvS10 armoured all-terrain vehicle BAE Systems told Janes on 31 March 2026.

The work is focused on production cost optimisation and improved design performance, BAE Systems said, and marks the first efforts under an agreement that Knightec signed with BAE Systems Hägglunds in December 2025.

The BvS10 is equipped with the Allison Transmission 3000SP six-speed automatic transmission, but the agreement could potentially lead to the future development and manufacture of components based on Hägglunds' own designs, BAE Systems added.

Knightec Group previously worked with BAE Systems Hägglunds on a modernisation project for an international customer's Bv206S fleet, gaining experience on the similarly all-tracked, articulated vehicle type. BAE Systems is under contract to deliver BvS10 vehicles for Germany, India, Italy, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
