Aselsan cites IAMD sales as contributing to 45% order backlog increase

Turkish defence company Aselsan says sales of integrated air and missile defence (IAMD) equipment have contributed to its growth in the first half of 2026, in results released on 4 August 2026.

While operating profit in TRY dropped 2% compared to H1 2025, order intake, order backlog, and revenue were up 72%, 45%, and 25% respectively.

As well as air defence the company attributed growth to demand in product lines including radar, electronic warfare (EW), naval systems, electro-optics, and precision-guided munitions.

One19 December 2025 Poland's Armament Agency, under the Ministry of National Defence (MND), awarded Aselsan a USD410 million contract for EW systems.

Aselsan's portfolio of products includes the Gözde family of precision-guidance kit, which converts 500 lb Mk 82 free-fall bombs into intertial navigation system (INS)/global navigation satellite services (GNSS)/semi-active laser (SAL)-guided weapons.

In the naval domain, products include the Cenk-S active electronically scanned array (AESA) naval radar fitted to Türkiye's indigenous İstanbul-class frigates, and the Gökdeniz 35 mm close-in weapon system (CIWS), developed by Aselsan with guns produced by MKE.

Growing production capacity and new contracts were cited as contributing factors by Aselsan CEO Ahmet Akyol. He added that the company plans to open 19 automated production lines and new test centres for smart munitions and underwater systems.
