Israel to integrate SPICE 1000 PGM onto F-35I

Israel is to integrate the Rafael Advanced Defense Systems SPICE 1000 precision-guided munition (PGM) onto the Lockheed Martin F-35I Adir combat aircraft.
Announced on 15 September 2026, integration of the 1,000 lb-class bomb will be carried out by both Rafael and Lockheed Martin at the latter's facilities in the US.
No further details were disclosed.
The SPICE 1000 is a guidance kit that turns 1,000 lb-class bombs into precision stand-off weapons. It uses INS/GPS guidance to approach its target before, then uses its electro-optical sensor and software to match the scenery of the target with intelligence data so that it is immune to GPS jamming. Rafael says it has a range of more than 120 km and a circular error probable (CEP) accuracy of less than 3 m. It can also be programmed to attack a target from a specific azimuth and impact angle, allowing deep dives for deeper penetration of hardened structures.
The PGM is already in Israeli Air Force (IAF) service aboard the Lockheed Martin F-16C/D Barak and Boeing F-15I Raam.
