Eviden to supply SICS training platform to Luxembourg

French software firm Eviden, part of the Atos Group, is to provide a SCORPION Combat Information System (SICS) training platform to the Luxembourg Army, the company announced on 11 May.

SCORPION (Synergie du COntact Renforcé par la Polyvalence et l'InfovalorisatiON) is the French Army's battlegroup-level modernisation programme which embraces new platforms (Griffon, Jaguar and Serval) and a new command and control (C2) system, the latter consisting of the SICS battle management system from Eviden and new contact radios from Thales.

Luxembourg has joined the French-Belgian Capacités Motorisée (CaMo) programme which is aligned with SCORPION, and is acquiring 54 vehicles (38 Jaguar, 16 Griffon) as part of this effort. These will equip a new mid-range reconnaissance battalion that will be jointly established by Luxembourg and Belgium. According to the Eviden announcement “Integrating SICS with CaMo vehicles enables instant information sharing among vehicles, platoons, and command posts, streamlining decision-making.”

In August 2025 Thales announced that it had been awarded a contract by Luxembourg worth more than EUR12.2 million to supply Synaps radios (the export version of Contact).

In addition to the SICS training platform Eviden said it is conducting studies on the digitization of the Luxembourg forces' existing vehicles to ensure interoperability with the new CaMo platforms. The aim is to develop a cohesive operational capability between the three countries, covering equipment, communications and doctrines, Eviden said in the announcement.

According to the Luxembourg Government's Luxembourg Defence Guidelines 2035 “Maximising the interoperability of forces will logically be a key area of work over the coming decade.” It adds “[the battalion] will be grouped initially into four reconnaissance companies, two of which will be Luxembourgish, supplemented by various bi-national support elements.”
