Embraer delivers first C-390 Millennium to Uzbek Air Force

Embraer has delivered to the Uzbek Air Force the first of two KC/C-390 Millennium tanker transport aircraft ordered in late 2024.

The formal handover took place at Embraer's facility in Gavião Peixoto, Brazil, on 25 September 2026, and was attended by the chief of the Uzbek Air Force, Major General Akhmad Jamolovich Burkhonov.

“The delivery of the first C-390 Millennium represents a significant step forward for the modernization of the Uzbekistan Air Force,” Maj Gen Burkhonov said at the event, which happened days after Embraer rolled out the aircraft at the same location on 10 September 2026. The timeline for the delivery of the second aircraft has not been disclosed.

The Uzbek Air Force will use the KC/C-390 primarily in transport and humanitarian missions, significantly improving its capabilities. It will replace and/or augment the countryʼs Soviet Union-era fleet of fixed-wing transport aircraft, comprising the Antonov An-12 ‘Cub', An-24 ‘Coke', An-26 ‘Curl', and Ilyushin Il-76 ‘Candid', as well as the European Airbus C295W.
