Russia's state-owned company Kalashnikov is offering its containerised loitering munition system, named Rus-PE, to export customers in the Asia-Pacific region, a representative for the government's defence export agency Rosoboronexport told Janes at Defence Services Asia (DSA) 2026 exhibition held in Kuala Lumpur from 20 to 23 April.
According to the representative, the munition is capable of carrying a warhead of up to 2 kg and features a dual guidance system. The system is manportable and features day-and-night cameras to enhance accuracy.
The representative said one soldier can fire the munition as well as operate fire-control system and other related components.
“A crucial thing about this type of system is that it is easily operated by one person,” the representative added.
According to the representative, Rus-PE has an endurance of 30 minutes and a maximum cruise speed of 140 km/h. However, the representative did not disclose the maximum range of the munition.
