Update: Echodyne announced as primary radar system for Trust Automation's RD-SUADS

Echodyne announced it was named as the primary radar system for the rapidly deployable- small unmanned air defence system (RD-SUADS) produced by Trust Automation Inc, according to an Echodyne press release from 20 April 2026.
The RD-SUADS is equipped with up to four of Echodyne's EchoShield radars, both in its rapidly deployable (RD) and fixed site (FS) versions, Leo McCloskey, vice president of marketing at Echodyne confirmed to Janes on 23 April. Trust Automation was awarded a USD490 million indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract from the US Air Force (USAF) for the development, prototyping and delivery of counter-unmanned aircraft system (C-UAS) capabilities on 17 December 2025, as per the company's press release from the time. The Echodyne contract was “subsequent to that event”, according to McCloskey.
The RD-SUADS has the capability to detect, classify, and track unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) 3 to 4.5 km away, US Master Sergeant Jason Morrison, C-UAS policy and guidance manager is quoted saying in a US Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa press release from 19 December 2023. USAF and US Army personnel took part in a 10-day joint multi-domain C-UAS operator course in December 2023, according to the release. The course centred on the “continual upkeep and efficient operation of the RD-SUADS”.
