Transbit unveils dual-channel R-452C-01 tactical radio

Polish communications systems manufacturer Transbit unveiled its new R-452C-01 dual-channel software-defined radio (SDR), designed to improve interoperability between Polish and allied tactical networks, at the MSPO 2026 defence exhibition in Kielce, Poland, held from 8–11 September.

According to Transbit, the R-452C-01 is a development of its R-450C-01 wideband radio, which is already used across several Polish Armed Forces programmes. A company representative told Janes at MSPO 2026 that the new system retains compatibility with existing R-450C networks while adding a second, independent radio channel capable of operating the TSM waveform used by several NATO tactical radios.

The first channel retains the R-450C-01's 225–400 MHz frequency range and the company's proprietary waveforms, enabling the radio to continue operating within its existing mobile ad hoc network (MANET) architecture, the representative added.

According to Transbit, the R-450C-01 is designed to establish wireless IPv4 local- and wide-area packet networks and has a data transmission rate of up to 7 Mbit/s. It uses orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) with BPSK, QPSK, 16QAM, and 64QAM modulation, with transmission parameters adapting to propagation conditions. The company lists configurable channel bandwidths of 0.5–4 MHz, frequency-hopping functionality, and the transmission of voice, data, and video among its capabilities.

According to the company, the R-450C family forms part of its RADION tactical battlefield communications system, which uses R-450C SDRs to exchange voice, video, telemetry, sensor data, and operational situational-awareness information through command-and-control (C2) systems.
