Thales and Armenia's BooTech System Integrator have announced an industrial partnership aimed at cooperation in defence-related digital systems, including battlefield management, tactical communications, and cybersecurity. The announcement was made at the Eurosatory 2026 exhibition, held in Paris from 15 to 19 June.

Under the agreement, Thales is expected to contribute manufacturing expertise, while BooTech will provide integration and networking capabilities. BooTech, founded in 2019, develops command, control, communications, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems designed to link existing and future platforms of various origins. This includes the integration of Soviet-, Russian-, French-, Armenian-, and Indian-origin equipment currently in-service with Armenia. The partnership is intended to support the development of interoperable defence communications and contribute to local industrial capabilities in Armenia.

BooTech's Business Development Director, Leonid Nersisyan, told Janes that prototypes of the company's C2 systems had been in service with Armenia during the 2020 conflict with Azerbaijan in the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh/Artsakh Republic region. Operational use during the conflict informed subsequent development, resulting in the current set of capabilities. According to Nersisyan, a key design focus has been usability, with an emphasis on ensuring that the software is intuitive to operate in order to minimise training requirements. Given that Armenia relies on conscription as part of its national defence model, operators have limited time to become proficient with such systems. As a result, the design prioritises reducing the number of steps required to input and receive command and control (C2) information.
