Sweden evaluates Lockheed Martin Advanced Center for Experimentation and Simulation

The Swedish Defence Materiel Agency (FMV) announced on its website on 17 August 2026 that it is procuring Lockheed Martin's Advanced Center for Experimentation and Simulation (ACES) for evaluation. The agency said the procurement is valued at just over SEK50 million (USD5.26 million) and that delivery would begin immediately and continue for 14 months.
Mike Tronolone, director, strategy and business development, Land and Maritime Solutions, at Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems, told Janes on 24 August that Swedes had been in Orlando during the third week of August to prepare for ACES before going back to Sweden. The FMV's Test and Evaluation division will evaluate ACES's ability to link existing national assets into a single, integrated simulation environment to ensure new systems actually work together in realistic operational environments, according to Lockheed Martin. During the evaluation period, three demonstrations will be carried out with the aim of demonstrating ACES's potential to provide support to both the FMV and the Swedish Armed Forces, according to the agency.
MSA platform
The FMV described ACES as an advanced modeling, simulation and analysis (MSA) platform that enables data-driven insights from different perspectives in a multi-domain operational environment. It added that the system has the ability to connect military training and analysis tools in a common virtual environment, citing as an example data-driven tactical development, operational planning, wargames, validation of interoperability, and testing innovations.
