Juno Industries, headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, has announced two new products. The Guardian system is a “unified situational awareness and threat detection system”, the company said in a 29 September statement.
The system features “proprietary sensor nodes to collect data, edge computing nodes to process data in the field”, and the Logan software platform to aggregate, fuse, and display data, the statement said.
Guardian operates independently and fully disconnected from GPS; provides local processing; detects, diagnoses, and remedies communications issues in real time without human intervention; and is designed for remote operations, according to the statement.
The system automatically processes sensor data to improve “the speed and accuracy of decision-to-action cycles”, the statement said.
Juno Industries developed its own sensor systems for Guardian to address specific problem sets, Harjit Sajjan, co-founder and executive chairman of Juno Industries, told Janes in a 15 October interview. He declined to provide further details.
Logan platform
The Logan software platform collects and fuses “data from systems, sensors, and effectors across domains to create a single, cohesive common operating picture displayed through a highly intuitive interface”, the statement said.
“Logan is a standalone software platform that can easily integrate with existing command-and-control systems and enables critical decision making” from the tactical to strategic level; across ground, air, sea, space, and cyber domains; and using data from sensors and effectors, public and secured sources, according to the statement.
“Both Guardian and Logan have completed foundational research and development and beta field-testing, and are in the pre-commercialisation stage,” the statement added.
