Romania's Pro Optica debuted a new unmanned 30 mm turret, the Anubis 30 at the Black Sea Defense Aerospace (BSDA) exhibition held in Bucharest from 13-15 May 2026. The turret is seen by Pro Optica as the next step forward for the company, which has built experience in designing and manufacturing remote weapon stations (RWSs) and optics in-house.

The Anubis 30 is marketed as an unmanned turret for infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) applications, with a 30×173 mm Mk44 Bushmaster II cannon and a coaxial 7.62 mm machine gun.

Pro Optica sales representative Claudiu Chirică told Janes at BSDA 2026 that the Anubis 30 is intended for both domestic and international markets. Chirică added that the Anubis 30, which is still in development, will be equipped with a commander's independent panoramic sight, a feature not seen on the mock-up example displayed at the exhibition. The sights for both the gunner and commander will use the same in-house design to ensure commonality.

The optics offer a typical layout comprising daylight and thermal cameras with a laser rangefinder. The optical suite can detect, recognise, and identify a human-sized target at ranges of 4.2 km, 1.5 km, and 0.8 km, respectively. Other features include a dual-axis stabilised cannon with manual backup controls, automatic target tracking, and a fire-control system.
