Türkiye is reorganising development of the TF35000 turbofan and TS3000 turboshaft under TEI Teknoloji A.Ş., the renamed TRMOTOR company, which trades as TEITECH.
TUSAŞ Engine Industries (TEI) announced on 7 August that the two engine programmes then being conducted within TEI, are being transferred to TEITECH as part of a wider reorganisation of Türkiye's indigenous aero-engine development activities. The intellectual and industrial property rights for both programmes are held by Türkiye's Secretariat of Defence Industries (Savunma Sanayii Başkanlığı: SSB), according to TEI.
Engineering and other technical staff working on the programmes will continue their work within TEITECH to preserve programme continuity and institutional knowledge, TEI said
The restructuring will bring materials development undertaken within TEI together with auxiliary power unit (APU) and engine programmes previously conducted by TRMOTOR. SSB confirmed on 10 August that the TF35000 and TS3000 programmes, materials development, and advanced research and development (R&D) activities would be conducted within TEITECH.
TEITECH said it expected the consolidation to improve the allocation of engineering resources and programme co-ordination and to shorten development times.
The TF35000 is a planned 35,000 lbf (155.7 kN)-class turbofan intended to power the KAAN combat aircraft, while the TS3000 is a planned 3,000 shp (2,237 kW)-class turboshaft for future rotary-wing applications, according to TEITECH.
Under the new organisational structure, TEI will concentrate on manufacturing, delivery, product support, mature engine programmes, and international partnerships. TEITECH will focus on indigenous engine development, APUs, materials development, and advanced R&D.
