Saab Australia has launched a cloud-based software platform designed to support the monitoring and management of space activities for defence applications.
The software, called Allied Mission System (AMS), is an open-architecture platform that integrates data from a range of sensors and third-party assets to enable faster and more informed decision-making, Saab said on 21 October.
AMS supports command-and-control (C2) by using artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled automated analysis to provide insights to commanders. This is intended to reduce operator workload while improving commanders' ability to co-ordinate assets, task systems, and manage missions.
According to Saab, AMS correlates sensor data to conduct pattern-of-life assessments, behavioural analysis, anomaly detection, and event prioritisation. It also combines historical observations with real-time data and predictive assessments to provide a more comprehensive picture of activities in the space domain.
Saab said AMS's open architecture enables the integration of new data services and applications, allowing it to adapt to evolving threats and operational requirements. AMS will be offered as a software as a service (SaaS), with customers able to tailor and expand its capabilities according to their requirements.
The company added that AMS could also be integrated with broader multi-domain operational ecosystems in the future.
Andy Keough, managing director of Saab Australia, said, “Almost everything we do relies on space in some way and we have designed our new AMS platform to give the user the capability to act in this highly congested and contested domain.”
Saab Australia had not responded to Janes request for more information at the time of publication.
