Poland's WB Group unveiled the Warmate 30, a jet-powered unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) developed under the Gladius 2 initiative, at the MSPO 2026 military exhibition, held from 8-11 September in Kielce, Poland.
The system is designed to boost deep strike capabilities for the Polish Armed Forces and allies. Gladius 2 is intended to provide a capability to conduct rapid, covert, and precise strikes against high-value, heavily defended, and time-sensitive targets at extended ranges. As Janes learned, Gladius 2 UAVs exceed Gladius UAVs in range and payload. However, the Gladius 2/Warmate 30 UAV is not an upgraded version of the Gladius 1/BSP-U (Unmanned Reconnaissance/Target-Search and Strike System), but is intended to add a deep strike layer without replacing the existing Gladius inventory. The Gladius reconnaissance-strike UAV system is fielded by Polish Army artillery brigades.
As Remigiusz Wilk, a WB Group spokesperson, told Janes, the Warmate 30 UAV is designed in a low-profile flying-wing configuration with reduced radar and thermal signatures. The airframe has a low radar cross-section and uses a Polish-made turbojet engine, production of which started in 2026. Launch is assisted by a rocket booster and can be conducted from a containerised launcher with land and naval applications. It can also use a launching ramp compatible with Gladius 1 platforms such as BSP-U or FT-5. Combat readiness is achievable within five minutes, Wilk added.
