The Roketsan İHA-230 has entered service with the Turkish Land Forces Command (Kara Kuvvetleri Komutanlığı: KKK), Ministry of National Defence (MND) spokesman Rear Admiral Zeki Aktürk said during a weekly briefing on 4 June 2026.
He did not name the weapon's launch platform, but the İHA-230 is only known to have been integrated on the Bayraktar Akıncı unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) made by Baykar Technology. Rear Adm Aktürk announced in a 16 April briefing that the Akıncı had entered service with the KKK after completing acceptance procedures.
Roketsan developed the İHA-230 from its 230 mm TRG-230 surface-to-surface missile, primarily for use with UAVs. The company says it has a range of more than 150 km and uses a combination of inertial and satellite navigation guidance.
Baykar announced a series of İHA-230 test launches from Akıncıs from March 2023, with the company reporting on 13 November 2024 that one had hit a target 155 km away.
The KKK's aviation wing operates smaller Bayraktar TB2 UAVs and most of the Turkish military's helicopters.
