Indian firm DCM Shriram Industries Limited showcased its quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), DCM Trishul and DCM Kailash, at the Defense & Security 2022 show in Bangkok.

The company said both UAVs are multirole quadcopters that are suitable for cargo delivery, aerial photography, surveillance, geospatial mapping, and humanitarian assistance missions.

Speaking to Janes, Rudra Shriram, the joint president of DCM Shriram Industries, said, “Both UAVs feature a unique integrated monocoque frame, thereby providing stability to the UAVs during hover flight. Both UAVs can be equipped with payloads and sensors to suit the user requirement.”

The DCM Trishul is a mini quadcopter UAV with a dimension of 0.7×0.6 m. The company said the UAV is operable in temperatures ranging from -10°C to +55°C with a maximum take-off weight (MTOW) of 8 kg. The UAV is powered by a single battery (specifications not disclosed) with four brushless DC motors, providing a maximum endurance of 80 minutes and maximum level speed of 60 km/h.

The Trishul UAV can carry various payloads with a maximum weight of 3 kg. The listed operational range of the UAV is 10 km. It has an operating altitude of 1,000 m and a service ceiling of 5,000 m.

DCM Kailash is a small quadcopter UAV featuring a similar monocoque design to Trishul. The UAV has a dimension of 1×1m, an MTOW of 40 kg, a payload-carrying capacity of 25 kg, and an endurance of 30 minutes. Other operating parameters of the DCM Kailash are the same as Trishul UAV.
