Final Jackal 3 for British Army rolls off production line

The final Jackal 3 for the British Army has rolled off Babcock's production line in Devonport, Plymouth, UK, the company announced in a press release on 13 July 2026. The final vehicle to roll out was Supacat's Jackal 3 Extenda variant, which will undergo testing before joining the British Army's operational fleet.

Babcock has built and delivered 123 Jackal 3 and Jackal 3 Extenda vehicles with Supacat for the British Army. A Babcock spokesperson told Janes on 14 July that 65 Jackal 3s and all 53 Jackal 3 Extenda vehicles were produced by Babcock in Devonport.

Phil Applegarth, director and head of Supacat, told Janes on 13 July that deliveries of 70 Jackal 3s were completed earlier in 2026, five of which were produced at Supacat in Dunkeswell, Dorset.

He added that the first two Jackal 3 Extenda vehicles for the Army of the Czech Republic (ACR) are in production, with all 18 on schedule to be delivered in 2027. The ACR General Staff announced on 3 September 2025 that the country's special forces would receive 18 Jackal 3 Extenda light armoured vehicles. The Czech Ministry of Defence ordered the vehicles to equip the Czech rapid response 601st Special Forces Group. The vehicles will replace the group's ageing Land Rovers and reinforce their logistical capabilities provided by the Tatra light truck.
