Indra has announced a fresh order in partnership with Thales and Airbus for new full flight simulators (FFS) for the Airbus Defence and Space A400M transport aircraft for the German and French air forces.
The Spanish systems group said these would double the training capacity for the aircraft at the German airbase at Wunstorf and the French base at Orléans-Bricy. Both air forces use similar simulators developed by Indra with the same partners in a programme that began in 2010.
The first FFS produced by the three companies for the A400M was installed at the Airbus training centre in Seville, where the aircraft are assembled, in June 2013.
