Portugal has canceled plans to modernise five C-130H transports through the US Foreign Military Sales programme, worth up to EUR29 million (USD36 million).
Instead, the aircraft will receive upgrades worth up to EUR19 million with the support of the Single European Sky Air Traffic Management Research (SESAR) project. Also EUR2.8 million will be allocated for maintenance of the C-130 fleet until the full operating capability (FOC) of the six KC-390s is achieved.
