Landmine attack kills four people in India's Meghalaya

THE CANDIDATE for the Nationalist Congress Party of Williamnagar constituency - identified as Jonathone Sangma - his driver and two police officers were killed when their vehicle triggered a landmine, emplaced by unidentified militants, in East Garo Hills district in India's Meghalaya state on 18 February, Reuters reported. No immediate claim of responsibility for the attack was made.
