Safran has entered a partnership with Australian firm Thomas Global Systems (TGS) to collaborate on manufacturing defence systems, the Australian Department of Defence (DoD) said on 14 February.
Under the agreement, Sydney-based TGS will set up a manufacturing facility to produce and maintain systems including the French group’s PASEO modular advanced stabilised sighting system, said the DoD.
The DoD added that the new facility to be run by TGS, which specialises in avionics, defence electronics, and training and simulation systems, would be the only one outside France producing the PASEO sighting system.
In addition, the two companies will collaborate on developing and manufacturing projects in support of other domestic and export opportunities.
