IED attack kills five police officers in Colombia's Atlantico

FIVE police officers were killed and at least 40 others were wounded when an improvised explosive device (IED), emplaced by Ejercito de Liberacion Nacional (ELN) militants, detonated targeting a police station in San Jose in the city of Barranquilla in Colombia's Atlantico department on 27 January, Colombia Reports reported. The ELN's National Urban War Front claimed responsibility for the attack. A 31-year-old man was arrested by police in alleged connection with the attack in the capital Bogota later that day.
