Czech Defence Minister Karla Slechtova announced on 23 January that the planned procurement of 12 medium multirole helicopters for the Army of the Czech Republic (ACR) would be delayed, stating that the Ministry of Defence (MoD) had made no progress in the selection process.
“Based on the initial information made available to me, including media reports, I was under the impression that a tender process was completed. I now see the situation is different,” Slechtova told media.
Slechtova ordered the General Staff of the ACR to stipulate what parameters the new helicopter platform must fulfil.
“I requested final and exact specifications, and not those based on science fiction,” Slechtova said.
