The Brazilian Air Force will begin operating its nine P-3AM Orion maritime patrol aircraft (MPA), fielded by the Squadron Orungan, at Wing 12 in Santa Cruz (State of Rio de Janeiro) from 29 January.
The Squadron Orungan is being relocated from Wing 14 at Salvador (State of Bahia) in order to improve maintenance and training, reduce costs, and to enable interaction with the Brazilian Navy.
Wing 12 is home to Squadron Puma and the 1st Fighter Group.
