Double VBIED attack kills at least 33 people in Libya's Cyrenaica

AT LEAST 33 people were killed and approximately 50 others were wounded when two vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (VBIEDs) detonated outside a mosque in Al Salmani district of the city of Benghazi in Libya's Cyrenaica region on 23 January, Reuters reported. Reports added that the second VBIED detonated approximately 15 minutes after the first and that the casualties included senior security officials. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
